Workshops

To help you better understand how to manage you academic careers, the UST Program also offers the following in-person workshops during the fall and spring semesters. These workshops are designed to help you enhance your college experience outside the classroom and assist you in your quest to find and declare a major, expand your resume and enhance your personal understanding of the world.

Academic Management

Academic policies matter. Students often find themselves making decisions regarding their courses without fully understanding the options that are available to them. The University of Delaware expects you to know and follow the policies that affect your academic career. This workshop focuses on grading options and how to maintain good academic standing. You will also learn how GPAs are calculated at UD.

Academic Planning for “Major” Decisions

This workshop is designed to introduce students to the process of crafting an educational plan for a successful college career. The workshop will provide students with information on researching and choosing potential majors. Students will also learn more about the wide variety of educational and leadership opportunities the University has to offer both in and out of the classroom. Topics may include major decision-making, accessing academic opportunities, utilizing online resources for major exploration, and campus and community involvement.

The schedule for in-person workshops is posted here.

Students may also utilize the online Choosing and Declaring a Major workshop. Additional “Dare to” online resources are available on the University Academic Advisement webpage.
